Several types of sheets
Black and pickled sheets
Sheets are flat steel plates resulting from the flattening of carbon steel coils. They feature various characteristics and vary based on their chemical composition and mechanical structure. At Carboni Steel, we offer a wide range of grades, thicknesses, and sizes tailored to the needs and demands of our customers and market. The extensive space dedicated to this department allows us to provide not only a broad selection of products but also high inventory levels for individual items. We supply sheets ranging from 0.6 mm to 20 mm thickness, in standard formats of 1000×2000 mm, 1250×2500 mm, 1500×3000 mm, up to 1500×4020 mm and 2000×4000 mm. Recently, we expanded our range by adding mill scale sheets from 20 mm to 50 mm in S355j2 sandblasted, in the size 2000×6000.
We supply black sheets suitable for a wide range of construction activities and pickled sheets, typically characterised by a matte grey color. Pickled sheets undergo a pickling process, namely a chemical treatment designed to remove surface impurities such as oxides, rust, and scale. This makes them suitable for almost all types of welding and coating. These sheets are particularly ideal for structural applications in sectors like construction, mechanics, shipbuilding, and transportation.
Bright, galvanised, embossed, patterned, and Corten sheets
Cold-rolled coils are used to produce bright sheets in DC01/DC04 grades, known for their elasticity, which makes them ideal for stamping applications. They are commonly used in automotive, furniture, and home appliance industries. Galvanised sheets, with their rust-resistant coating, are excellent for preventing corrosion and oxidation.
Embossed and patterned sheets, featuring traditional diamond or lozenge shapes, are valued for their anti-slip properties and resistance to deformation and heavy loads. They are often used in industrial flooring, walkways, platforms, and stairs.
Perforated sheets are designed for applications requiring transparency, lightweight, and filtration properties. Their holes, which can be round, square, hexagonal, or custom-shaped, are arranged in a systematic pattern. These sheets are widely used in industrial, agricultural, construction, and furniture applications. Patterned sheets are also employed in industrial contexts and are produced through cold stamping with specialised presses. In addition, we offer Corten sheets, a high-yield-strength steel that forms a protective patina when exposed to atmospheric conditions, thanks to its internal oxides. This patina allows the material to self-protect and resist corrosion.
