OUR HISTORYA legacy built across generations
Carboni Steel was founded over 70 years ago from Riccardo Carboni’s dream to open a store supplying plumbing, construction, and hardware products. With the support of his sons and their commitment to expanding the company’s user base and services, today the business spans over 100,000 square metres and collaborates with leading Italian and European manufacturers in the industry.
The beginning
Riccardo Carboni, together with his sons Silvio, Livio, Enrico, and Gildo, took over a hardware and construction materials shop in the heart of Correggio.
A new steel division
The company decided to invest in a new market sector, namely ferrous materials. So, a dedicated warehouse for the steel division was established, marking a pivotal step in its growth.
The first expansion
During Italy's strong economic boom, the Carboni brothers decided to open a new 4,000 square metre facility
New warehouses
To support future projects, it was necessary to expand the business by building two additional warehouses, one for iron products and another one for plumbing supplies.
Plants’ expansion
The expansion of the plants located in via Mandrio enabled the company to create new spaces for the iron and plumbing divisions.
The cutting area
The company planned a further expansion of the steel products warehouse. A new section was designed focusing on custom-cutting services for tubes, rolled products, and profiles.
Stainless steel expansion
A new family-driven project introduced stainless steel products, exploiting 2,100 square metres of dedicated space and opening new market opportunities.
Laser tube division
The implementation of a laser tube processing system expanded the company's service offerings. New technologies and dedicated spaces enhanced material processing capabilities.
Photovoltaic system
We installed a 200 kW SMA Solar Technology photovoltaic system. Through the production of solar energy, we set up a virtuous cycle enabling us to consume self-produced energy, reducing CO2 emissions by over 38,500 kg annually.
New laser tube system
Only two years after the first major investment in laser tube processing, a second system was introduced to keep up with market demands.
New brand identity
The company rebranded to become Carboni Steel, focusing exclusively on the steel industry.
New PLUS 6025 laser system
This technological advancement aims to expand our offerings with high-quality semi-finished products. Thus, we provide a wider array of premium services to our customers.
Third tube laser system
Just a few years after the second investment, CarboniSteel is expanding the department again with a third tube laser system.
